BFE purchases European warehouse in Zeebrugge.
Bridgestone/Firestone Europe (BFE), the global tyre manufacturer, Seapark and the Port of Zeebrugge, have signed a contract for BFE to purchase the European warehouse in Zeebrugge, previously owned by Seapark. BFE now becomes the full owner of the warehouse, which the company has been using exclusively since the opening of the premises at the end of '98. BFE said that the acquisition of the warehouse and surrounding concessions provides a firm base for the expansion of the facility, which will be phased over the next several years, in conjunction with BFE's manufacturing plan. The 28.000 m² warehouse, together with its 12.000 m² parking area employs about 22 persons, who will remain as Seapark staff. Additional BFE personnel will also soon be located at the site.
