Group-Galloo builds de-pollution plant for end of life cars near Ath.

Group Galloo, a Menen based specialist for the recycling of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, has invested € 4,5 million in the opening of a scrap yard in Ghislenghien near Ath under the name Sowarec (Société Wallonne de Récupération) where Galloo’s subsidiary Valorauto Belgium will build a department to de-pollute end of life vehicles. Group Galloo operates two more Valorauto centres in Menen and Bruges. The company expects to depollute 20.000 vehicles in its first year of operation in Ath. Group Galloo has contracts with Renault, Peugeot and Citroën for the de-pollution of end of life cars. It employs 400 staff for a consolidated turnover of € 150 million and has operations in Flanders, Wallonia and Northern France.
