Volkswagen set to make new Golf at Vorst plant.

Volkswagen, the German carmaker, has announced plans to assemble its new Golf model A5 at its Brussels (Vorst) plant from next year. VW said the production will be spread among 3 VW-plants in Belgium and Germany. Over the past few years more than 1,000 jobs have been lost at the Belgian plant, but Volkswagen said it might hire more people at Vorst if the new Golf proves popular. The plant, which makes the Lupo and Golf A4 models, currently employs 6000 people.
