Devgen receives € 2,5 million grant for ion channel research

Devgen, the privately held Gent based functional genomics and drug discovery company, announced that it has been awarded a € 2.5 million technology development grant from the Flemish government to support its unique capabilities in valuable therapeutic, but difficult to screen targets. IWT (The Flemish Institute for the Promotion of Industrial Scientific- and Technological Research) has awarded the grant to support Devgen's competitive technology. Devgen is a genomics-based drug discovery company developing novel therapies for metabolic diseases, such as diabetes, obesity and cholesterol handling. Devgen was founded in December 1997 and currently employs over 95 people. To date the company has been resourced over euro 60 million in equity and revenues.
