DuPont-Teijin Films
DuPont-Teijin Films, a supplier of polyester films for the specialty, industrial, packaging and advanced magnetic media and photo systems, electrical and electronics markets, said it will cut the workforce at the European and US polyester film plants by about 500, because of lower demand. The venture will reduce about 500 jobs or 15-20 % of local workers at UK, Dutch (Rozenburg), Luxembourg, and US factories. Over 300 jobs will be cut in the US, and slightly below 200 in the three European manufacturing bases. Polyester films are used in a wide variety of applications, including videotapes, floppy discs and food packaging.
