Eurogentec acquires Epoch Biosciences' San Diego unit

Eurogentec, a Liège based bio-tech specialist and spin-off of the University of Liège, has acquired a San Diego-based affiliate company of Epoch Biosciences, for $ 1,4 million. Epoch said the deal calls for it to transfer its customer base, manufacturing equipment and inventory at its non-proprietary specialty oligonucleotide business to Eurogentec. The existing supply agreement allowing Eurogentec to sell custom oligonucleotides that include Epoch's dyes and non-fluorescent quenchers will be expanded to include North America. Eurogentec specialises in the development, marketing and distribution of products and services in molecular biology and R&D services for the biopharma industry.
