Exxon Mobil

Exxon Mobil, the world's largest oil concern, is in advanced talks with chemical and pharmaceutical concern DSM on acquiring the latter's petrochemical activities. This was reported by US trade journal Chemical Week, citing sources as saying the deal could be wrapped up in a matter of months. DSM, which last year announced it planned to divest its petrochemicals division, declined to give clues on whether it would sell to Exxon Mobil or proceed with talks to buy French Rhodia.
