Nuon

Nuon, the Dutch multi-utility, said it was interested in any sale by U.S-owned Reliant Resources of its generation business in the Netherlands. Reliant had announced earlier it was considering the sale of its Reliant Energy Power Generation Benelux unit which it acquired in late 1999 for 2600 million euros. The Benelux unit, formerly known as UNA , has 3,476 megawatts of generating capacity in the Netherlands, roughly 20 % of the company's total capacity. Reliant said that a number of foreign companies had also shown an interest in its generation business, among them Italian energy giant Enel.
