Royal Dutch/Shell

Royal Dutch/Shell, the Anglo-Dutch oil company, announced it will increase the number of shops at its Dutch petrol pumps from 120 to over 400. The so-called Select shops are small convenience stores that sell items such as cigarettes, food and drinks. The majority of the new shops will be built next to petrol stations in built-up areas. Shell will start building the new shops from September 2002. The operation should be completed by 2005. Shell currently has 700 petrol stations in the Netherlands.
