| Groupe Carpentier, the Walloon cinema operator, has acquired a 5 hectares plot of land in the city of Tournai, which is currently owned by Belgian railway operator SNCB/NMBS. The family-owned cinema group has disclosed plans to build a leisure centre including 10 movie theatres, 3.000 m” of commercial leisure space and a 1000 car parking lot. Located next to Tournai’s station, the site offers excellent connections with the cities of Mouscron, Courtrai et Lille. Carpentier is Belgium’s no. 3 cinema operator behind Kinepolis and UGC. |
