Datatec pays € 7 million for Landis’ distribution network, including Belgium.

Landis, the ailing Dutch information technology firm, said it had agreed to sell its distribution activities to Westcon Group Inc., a unit of South African tech group Datatec Ltd . Landis said Westcon would pay € 7 million euros for its fixed assets, delivery contracts and the client list. Creditors, debtors and supplies would not be part of the contract. Landis said the value of the distribution arm's debtors and supplies totalled about € 75 million euros. The agreement includes distribution activities in the Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Norway, Sweden, Spain and Austria but not Landis's British distribution. More than 500 Landis employees will be taken on by Westcon.
