Nokia number one mobile phone seller in Belgium |

Nokia, the Finish mobile phone producer succeeded in pushing its market share up from 57% to 63 % despite the decline of gsm mobile phone sales in Belgium. According to figures published by market investigator Gfk the sale of mobile phones has gone down from 2.5 million in 2001 to 2 million in the year 2002, with overall turnover going down to € 319 million, from € 352 million in 2001. Possible reasons for the decline in sales are that consumers are awaiting new features on mobile phones like camera’s and MMS services. Sony Ericsson is the number two manufacturer (10.8 %) and third is Siemens (7.8 %). www.gfk.be |
