Zenitel delivers communication and security systems to superspeed train in China.

Zenitel, the Belgian-Norwegian telecoms combination, announced it has won a contract to install a communication and security system in the fastest train in the world. The train - that will start operating in China in 2003 - will be "flying" at a maximum speed of 430 km an hour. The first Transrapid magnetic train will run between the Shanghai International Airport and the city's financial district Lujiazui, a distance of 33 km covered in 7 minutes. Financial details of this contract are not disclosed. The Zenitel group employs some 900 people worldwide.
