Arcelor sells Lusidor-stake to Corus

Arcelor, the three-way merger of France's Usinor, Luxembourg's Arbed and Spain's Aceralia, has sold its 50 % stake in Portuguese joint venture Lusosider to Anglo-Dutch partner Corus for € 10.8 million in cash. Lusosider produces hot dipped galvanised steel sheet and electrolytic tinplate. Following the merger of Usinor, Arbed and Aceralia in February 2002, to form Arcelor, the European Commission required Arcelor to divest a number of assets, including its stake in Lusosider.
