Ryanair axes 13 Buzz-routes and cuts 440 jobs

Ryanair, the no-frills airline, has confirmed that it will axe 13 Buzz routes and 10 % of its staff as it looks to takeover its smaller rival next month. Loss-making Buzz, which Ryanair agreed to buy from its Dutch parent KLM in January, will be substantially restructured, eventually taking on board about 170 workers of the 610 staff formerly employed by the airline. and operating eight planes carrying three million passengers per year. Ryanair revealed more than one-third of Buzz workers had accepted new contracts, with 90 % of the airline’s pilots signing up to the new deal.
