| Technicolor, a Thomson Multimedia business that specializes in the distribution of motion picture film prints, dvd’s, cd’s and videocassettes, announced it would close its Dutch Helmond based video copying unit, following the decrease in demand for videocassettes. The unit, which employs 370 staff and in its heyday copied over 38 million tapes per year, intended for video shops, said the demand for videos had sharply fallen due to the success of the dvd. |
