VRT acquires Formula 1 rights |

| VRT, the Flanders public broadcaster, has acquired the rights for the live broadcasting of the Formula 1 races for the next three years, starting with the Australia Grand Prix on March, 3rd. Until recently, the races had been broadcasted by VRT’s competitor VTM, a division of the VMM (Vlaamse Media Maatschappij). No financial terms were disclosed. The Formula One's commercial rights for the next 100 years are in hands of Slec, Bernie Ecclestone's family trust, in which a Kirch-EMTV venture holds a 75% stake. |
